Several people shot in Cumbria, N-W England - could we be seeing the free
market at work?

Unlikely to turn out to be anything like South Africa's taxi wars. The man
most likely to be responsible for the shootings happens to be a taxi-driver
and one of his victims appears to have been shot at a taxi-rank. Several
other victims are understood to be members of his family. Your source also
wrongly places Whitehaven, scene of some oft he shootings, in London. It is
in fact at least two hundred miles away from London.

Not *in* London -- north-west *of* London, Just a little dig at the UK papers
who, whenever reporting any instance of violent crime in South Africa, cannot
refrain from mentioning that it is the host to the 2010 World Cup.

BTW good to see you back.
