40 years ago today the Lutherans abandoned their non-political stance and
rejected apartheid and SA rule in Namibia by releasing their Open Letter
to the SA prime minister and their Pastoral Letter read out in their own
congregations, in which they called for one nation, one Namibia.

I've blogged about it at:

if anyone wants more detail.

SWAfrica/Namibia had less justification for splitting from SA, than
currently the western-cape has.
OTOH, the Basque county and especially 'Kurdistan' having their
own culture and language, should surely be allowed to separate.

The main motivation for any splitting, is that the leader/initiator
of the split gets a leadership position in the new entity.
Blogs are a crappy substitute, for people who can only browser-clik.
